Types of Gifts

Annual and Outright Gifts

Each year Allegheny General Hospital benefits substantially from the generosity of individuals and organizations who support the Hospital's Highest Priority fund which provides operating budget resources that impact multitute of patient services and clinical and research programs.  Contributors may also provide support for a specific hospital program. 

Gifts or pledges can be made conventiently through the Give now online gift porcessing page, or by completing the AGH Giving Form and returning it by mail with your gift.  You may also fax this form to our office along with your credit card of pledge information.

Honor or Memorial Gifts

Any gift or grant to Allegheny General Hospital can be designated in honor of an AGH physician, staff member, or employee, or in memory of a friend or loved one.  You may make this type of gift convenitently through the Give now online gift porcessing page using a credit card, or by completing the honor/memorial section of the AGH Giving Form and returning it by mail with your contribution or by fax with your credit card information.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Many employers match charitable donations made by their employees, board members and their spouses. This additional support can double or even triple the value of the original gift. Please check with your human resources department or coprorate foundation to see if your company or organization has a gift-matching program.

Grants

Grants are contributions from foundations, businesses, corporations or other organizations that are given in support of Allegheny General Hospital or its affiliates. Grants may also be received from government agencies.  The hospital is a regular beneficiary from many grant making organizations that provide support for clinical, educational and research programs.  Individuals representing grant making institutions are invited to contact the Office of Fund Development at 412-359-5110 for additional information on providing grants to Allegheny General Hospital.

Major Gifts

Major gifts provide significant financial impact on a specific hospital project or program. Often these gifts involve public recognition of the individual donor, foundation or company and are arranged through a major gift agreement that has been negotiated with the Office of Fund Development.  For information please call 412-359-5110.

Planned or Estate Gifts

Planned gifts, often referred to as estate gifts, comprise a number of unique charitable giving options that benefit Allegheny General Hospital while simultaneously providing financial and tax benefits to donors for estate planning purposes.  Please contact the Office of Fund Development at 412-359-5110 for information on planned gifts.
