Office of Sponsored Research
The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) administers research projects that are conducted at Allegheny and funded by the following sources:
- Private Industry, (clinical trials, bench research, animal studies, etc.)
- Governmental Agencies, including collaborations with other Institutions
- Associations or Organizations (i.e., American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, etc.)
- Internally funded research projects
Additionally, OSR is responsible for the management of intellectual property of Allegheny-Singer Research Institute (ASRI) and its investigators, including the review of inventions for patentability and commercial potential, managing patent applications, and negotiating licensing and associated agreements with third parties.
Services provided by the Office of Sponsored Research include:
- IRB submission of research protocols
- Budget development
- Contract negotiation
- Conflict of interest certification
- Review/approval of grant proposals
- Clinical trial billing management
- Patient accrual database maintenance
- Reimbursement/coverage determination assistance
The Office of Sponsored Research does not administer gifts or other types of unrestricted funds that are under the authority of the Development Office. Please contact the Development Office for additional information or assistance with these types of projects.
