The Cast Room

here is a dedicated Cast and Procedure room on 10c, the main Orthopedic floor.  All casting material, from Jones cotton to Webril is kept in stock.  In addition two cast saws and several cast splitters are maintained within the room to allow rapid removal of constrictive splints and casts.  In addition, cast material is also located in the ED and the operating rooms.

The proximity of the cast room allows rapid access for application of splints and casts used in the care and management of fractures.  It also facilitates cast and splint dressing changes by placing appropriate materials within the reach of the residents and staff.
