Federal North

ffice space for Allegheny Orthopedic Associates (AOA) is located at 1307 Federal Street on the second floor of the Federal North office building.  The entire second floor is devoted solely to Orthopedic care with a spacious patient waiting area lying between the offices/billing/filing/PT area and the clinical area.

The clinical area is comprised of 4 pods, each with there own check-in/out area and exam rooms.  Each pod has at least 8 exam rooms, with 4 rooms per attending.  A generous procedure room is available for casting and splinting, accommodating up to four patients at a time. There are three digital x-ray suites with viewing monitors located in each exam room, or x-rays may be printed to any of three high quality laser printers.  In addition, each room is equipped with view boxes for reviewing outside films. 

All told, there can be up to eight different attendings holding office hours at any given time, often with a mix of PA students, Med students, Residents, and Fellows.  

Federal North also houses its own physical therapy department, located on second floor, as well as a hematology lab and processing center on the first floor.  The proximity of PT and lab services significantly eases the process of pre-operative testing and post-operative care for patients located in the surrounding areas.

Other amenities at Federal North include a dedicated parking garage, a café (The Grand Grounds Too), two resident/ fellow offices, and two conference rooms.
