Health Sciences Library

he Health Sciences Library serves as the primary information resource at AGH providing access to all publicly available information through a combination of resources and services. The Library’s health information professionals use all appropriate methodologies and technologies to access pertinent information regardless of format or location, ensure the reliability of that information and deliver that information to library clients at local and remote locations.

The library is available for use by the medical staff, employees, and students of Allegheny General Hospital, as well as Allegheny patients, patient families, and health care consumers.

In addition, the library staff will perform expert literature searches upon request, consult on an ongoing search, and provide photocopies of requested material form internal collections within 24 hours.  They will also obtain material from external sources for approved individuals free of charge.  Audio visual or CD-ROM material may be accessed in the adjacent computer or A-V rooms.

Access to the library is round’ the clock thanks to a swipe card provided to each resident and staff member.
