Radiology

he Radiology Department at AGH provides 24 hour coverage of the hospital with in-house attendings and residents or residents and out of house attendings.  There are two experienced musculoskeletal radiologists and a musculoskeletal radiology fellow available during normal hours for consultation on tough cases.  Additionally, two experienced neuro-radiologists allow rapid interpretation of MRI and CT scans obtained during normal hours.  At night, the radiology resident on call reviews all films. Difficult cases may be reviewed by an attending radiologist via internet as necessary. 

A limited staff of techs is available at night to perform x-rays, CT scan, MRI, etc.  The main emphasis is placed on emergency and trauma films, followed by routine in-patient films.  Turn around times from order to film is generally excellent, despite the above limitations.
