The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship is an accredited two-year training program that includes comprehensive didactic and clinical experience in treating psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents. Allegheny General Hospital's Department of Psychiatry provides a full range of clinical services, including outpatient, partial hospital, inpatient, school, community and consultation-liaison settings. In addition, the Allegheny General Hospital Center for Traumatic Stress in Children and Adolescents, a nationally recognized clinical research program, offers unique educational experiences working with traumatized children.

Didactic lecture series include the following: Diagnosis and Treatment of Psychiatric Disorders in Children and Adolescents; Developmental Practicum; Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology; Therapeutic Interactions with Children; Forensic Child Psychiatry; Advanced Therapeutic Interventions with Children and Adolescents; Administration, Supervision and Career Choices in Child Psychiatry; and School and Community Psychiatry. Rotations include outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry (12 months), partial hospital program (two months), inpatient child and adolescent program (five months) and a variety of electives (five months).
