Director, General Practice Residency Program Assistant Professor of Medicine Division of Dental Medicine Length of program: 1 year The General Practice Residency Program in Dentistry at Allegheny General Hospital is a one year program emphasizing hospital dentistry, medicine, and the treatment of medically compromised patients. The resident will spend seven months in the dental treatment area and the remaining five months on clinical rotations which include:
These rotations are subject to change each year and may be modified to strengthen and enhance the program during the academic year. Supervised clinical experience in general dentistry, including restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, pedodontics and periodontics is provided. A list of our overall program goals and objectives is enclosed. A copy of the Allegheny General Hospital Blood Borne and Infectious Diseases Policy will be provided upon request. Applicant materials to be submitted consist of a completed AGH Graduate Training Program Application, a letter of recommendation from your dean, two letters of recommendation from your dental school professors, official dental school and undergraduate transcripts and regional board scores. These must be received by us before October 1, 2007. After all materials are reviewed, those applicants selected for an interview will be notified. The applicant must pass both Part I and Part II of the National Board Examinations to be eligible for the program, as well as being a graduate of a United States dental school. Please note that we participate in the Postdoctural Application Support Service (PASS). A PASS application can be obtained at your respective dental school.
