Application Process

All applicants will be expected to complete the application process through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).   Candidates selected for interview will be notified by e-mail correspondence through ERAS.  Guidelines for submission can be found by clicking on the link provided here.    ERAS

July 1, 2008 MyERAS Web site opens to fellowship applicants to work on applications.
November 15, 2008 Nephrology fellowship applicants may being selecting and applying to programs.
December 1, 2008 Nephrology fellowship programs can begin contacting the ERAS PostOffice to download applications.
Documentation Requirements
The following documents are required in order for candidates to be considered for an interview:
 1) Curriculum Vitae
 2) Personal Statement
 3) Recent Photograph
 4) ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
 5) Green Card Status (if applicable)
 6) USMLE Scores (M.D.'s): Steps 1 and 2; Step 3 (if available)
 7) COMLEX Scores (D.O.'s): Levels 1, 2 and 3
 8) Letters of Recommendation: 3, including letter from Program Director
 9) Visa Requirements: Program will accept applicants with J-1 visa and Permanent Resident (Green Card) status.  Allegheny General Hospital does NOT sponsor applicants with H1B visa status.
PLEASE NOTE:  Applications will not be considered complete unless all of the above-listed documents have been submitted electronically through ERAS.
Interviews

Applications will be downloaded and reviewed beginning December 1 and will continue to be reviewed on a daily basis.  The program will extend invitations for interview via e-mail through the ERAS PostOffice.

December 1 , 2008

AGH Program will download and begin to review applications.

January 2009 AGH Program will extend interview invitations via e-mail through ERAS PostOffice.
February and March 2009 Interviews will be scheduled at Allegheny General Hospital.
Nephrology Match

The Nephrology Fellowship Program at Allegheny General Hospital participates in the Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP) for fellowship positions.  All ERAS deadlines will still apply.  Nephrology program directors are not able to download applications until December 1.  The Match deadline for submission of rank lists has enabled us to extend our interview deadline. Interviews will be conducted from January through the end of March.  The following is a partial schedule of Match dates for July 2009. The schedule of Match dates for July 2010 will be published when available.

April 8, 2009 Rank order list submission begins for programs and applicants.
June 3, 2009 Applicants and programs must certify their rank order lists by this date.
June 17, 2009 Match Day
