Medical School: Marshall University

Undergraduate: Duke University

Hometown:  Most recently Charleston, WV

Brief Narrative:

Born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Albuquerque, then Miami, and now I've lived the last 16 years in Charleston, WV.  I went to undergrad at Duke (apologies if you're a UK, UNC, or MD fan) and got my BS in Psychology.  I went on to medical school at Marshall University (of Mathhew McConaughey movie fame) in Huntington, WV and made my way to Allegheny General for Emergency Medicine, where I reside today.  Or, at least, I reside nearby and work at Allegheny General.
The people are great here and there's a lot of camaraderie in the (always busy) emergency department.  I tend to invite people over to play Smash Bros or Rock Band (have you seen the Guitar Hero the program we have set up in the EM call room?), try out Pittsburgh's bevy of bars and clubs, or just hang out watching movies and celebrating an evening off.  All of us already tried out white water rafting during our intro month, and now I'm eagerly awaiting winter so I can try out some nearby skiing.  Pittsburgh's been good to me, the hospital's been good to me, and the people have been outstanding.

Interests:

Electronics (TV, Fake band games, Computers, Television), Roleplaying games, Skiing, Swimming (I'm new at it), Comic books, sleeping, Fantasy/ Sci-Fi novels, Pretending to dance, Mixology (Practicing), and I'll try just about any activity once.
