Brief Narrative:

After growing up in suburbia, I broke from the family tradition of working for food companies by getting a degree in TV production, then leaving that notion behind to go to paramedic school.  After a few years of having my prehospital medicine critiqued by a QA/QI person who clearly knew less about medicine than I did (did you know that the lungs are "peripheral"?), I targeted all my rage into my decision to go to medical school.  As you may guess, this is a very healthy way to make such a decision.

Since most of my practice as a paramedic had been near Pittsburgh (the home of my first wife), coming to AGH was a no-brainer:  I knew the ED pretty well and had always been impressed by it over a span of years, even from the outside.  That said more to me than any single interview day ever could, and I actually had them pegged as my first choice before ERAS had actually opened.

Interests:

Wein, Weib, und Gesang.  Also, food cooked by real chefs, target shooting, cross-country skiing, writing (mostly blogging, really), and the very Baltimorean chocolate snowball with marshmallow topping.
