Hometown: Pickerington, OH
Brief Narrative:
Born in Panama City, Panama, I lived most of my life in a small town called Pickerington, one of the easternmost suburbs of Columbus, Ohio, nestled between the edge of Columbus's suburban sprawl and the beautiful beginnings of the Appalachian foothills. I moved on to Kent State University, in Kent, Ohio, where I studied integrated life sciences (essentially, biological and social sciences). I lived in Kent for seven years, going to medical school at NEOUCOM, a few miles away, and enjoying the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley area of Ohio. I came to Pittsburgh because it has everything you could want from a city, from rare bookshops to jazz music several times a week, to great food of every variety, while also having gorgeous natural spaces immediately accessible. I also enjoy its myriad eclectic neighborhoods, each with their own unique character. I chose AGH because of the approachable down-to-earth people I met and the general welcoming attitude of the residency.
Interests:
My interests include outdoor activities (especially biking and hiking), horticulture, literature, and good beer.
