Medical School: University of Cincinnati

Undergraduate: Purdue University

Hometown:  Suburban Cincinnati (Northern Kentucky)

Brief Narrative:

I grew up in Kentucky, in the suburbs of Cincinnati.
Basically that makes me an urban redneck.  I worked a lot in
construction growing up, but in college I stumbled into Biomedical
engineering and loved it so much I decided to go to medical school.  I
met my fiancee Megan Lea there, and now I am well onto my dream of
becoming a trophy husband.  If that doesn't pan out, I am working on
finishing my EM residency at AGH--and thrilled to be doing so.  We have
awesome, friendly, and supportive faculty.  The residents are a lot of
fun to work with and just as much fun to hang out with after work.
The rest of the EM staff makes my job easy.  And I have to mention
Chris, the do-it-all residency coordinator who keeps us all in line
and well fed.  And as painstaking as this is for a native Cincinnatian
to admit, Pittsburgh is actually a great city with lots of interesting
things to do, but I still am a fan of the mighty Bengals: Who Dey!

Interests:
I have a ton of interests.  These include sports, the great outdoors,
and cooking.  I organized a sand volleyball and dodgeball team (Go
Team High Riding Prostate!) with other AGH residents.  I bike as much
as I can.  And when I get time off I go camping and kayaking.  I also golf,

play tennis, and frisbee golf.  If I have time, I can also bake a mean lasagna.

Of course, I like to unwind on occassion, preferably with a glass of fine
Kentucky Bourbon, but a nice beer or a bag of Franzia will work.  As
far as EM goes, I also have a lot of interests and have no idea where
my career is heading, if anywhere.  But I like ultrasound,
informatics, cardiovascular emergencies, and for balance, pediatrics.
