Brief Narrative:
Tom Brophy was born and raised in Pittsburgh and received his degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh. After his undergraduate education he attending the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic medicine for four years where he earned his Doctorate of Osteopathy. The following year he returned to western Pennsylvania where he completed a rotating internship year at The Medical Center of Beaver. When asked why he chose Allegheny General Hospital to train in Emergency Medicine, Tom replies "I have always had a tremendous amount of respect for the well-rounded training residents receive here, and having worked with several graduates of the program during my rotations and intern year, and seeing how good they were, it was a 'no-brainer;" Tom has always enjoyed the bartending he did in undergrad and medical school, boxing, riding his Harley, and weekend getaways.
