Brief Narrative:

I was born in Cheboygan, Michigan, but then moved around for the first few years of my life due to my dad’s job as a cartographer with the USGS. We moved to Salem, Missouri, when I was in 2nd grade and I spent the rest of my childhood there. Sports were a huge part of my life as I played basketball, volleyball, and ran track on various elite and school teams. Volleyball took me to Truman State University where I played college sports and met my husband, Tom. I majored in chemistry with a minor in biology along with being a part of various clubs. After 4 years in Kirksville, I attended medical school in Kansas City and got married during that time.
I chose Allegheny General Hospital to train for several reasons. I really enjoyed the atmosphere when I interviewed and liked the attendings and their attitudes. AGH also has a reputation for training well rounded residents. The sports medicine fellowship was another big reason I chose AGH as I have spent my whole life playing sports and was interested in pursuing that path.

Interests:

I enjoy playing volleyball and basketball when I get the chance, along with spending time with my family and friends. My husband is a football coach so I spend a lot of time watching/attending football games.
