![]() Alexander Palma , MDEmail: apalma@wpahs.org Medical School: Ross University Undergraduate: University of Miami Hometown: Miami, FL Brief Narrative: First generation Cuban raised in Miami. Only Doctor in the family, I actually was an Engineer in undergrad. Went to medical school in the Caribbean and would not have done it any other way. Lived in a third world country and really learned to appreciate how many amazing things we have in the US. Some of us forget how important traffic lights are or even continuous running water. But the experience cannot be replaced by anything. Pittsburgh has been good to me. I was able to buy a house, live in a awesome neighborhood and meet amazing people. It was definitely a rude awakening to have to live with temperatures below 70 degrees, especially when it snows. But you adapt. I have learned soo much in PGH, everything from critical care to the Steelers.
