Application Information

All applications are handled through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS.)

ERAS

The Internal Medicine Residency Office will not accept any paper applications. Once the application is completed our staff reviews the application and applies the specific criteria that we use for granting interviews. Personal interviews are by invitation only and are required for acceptance to our program. Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Deadline for applying to our Internal Medicine Residency Program is December 31, 2008. Applications are now being accepted for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Completed Application Includes:

  • Completed application
  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Official transcript from your medical school
  • Dean's letter
  • Three letters of recommendation (at least one Internal Medicine)
  • USMLE Board scores

 

If you are a foreign medical graduate, your application must also meet the following requirements:

  • Our minimum score requirements on USMLE Step1 & Step 2. Your scores must be 200 or above.
  • We only sponsor J-1 visa (no H1)
  • Three letters of recommendation from US clinical attending physicians.
  • We accept applications via ERAS only.
  • You must be ECFMG certified prior to any interview.
  • Deadline for applications is December 31, 2008

Interviews:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from November to early February. Our program offers PGY-I positions through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Interviews for the Internal Medicine Residency Program begins at 7:00 a.m. and lasts until 12:00 p.m. Interview days for the Combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine Program are Mondays and Wednesdays and begin at 7:00 a.m. and last until 4:00 p.m. Combined candidates are interviewed by both the Emergency Medicine Department and the Internal Medicine Department.
