Alle-Kiski Medical Center (AKMC) has a long
history of serving the community. In the past
100 years, it has grown from humble beginnings in a three-story frame dwelling on Second Avenue in Tarentum into the 250-bed medical/surgical facility on Carlisle Street in Natrona Heights that it is today.

The story of AKMC is one of community leaders, with vision and determination, responding to a critical community need. The leaders set the wheels in motion for a hospital that would grow and prosper and change with the times to meet new challenges. From the outset, the goal was to give outstanding care to people in need. That simple premise has been maintained and is the reason why the hospital today remains an icon in the Allegheny Valley.
