Highmark’s Personal Nutrition Coaching
Personal nutrition coaching strives to empower the individual to sustain healthy lifestyle changes by assisting them with setting goals and overcoming challenges with food selection and meal planning. This one-on-one counseling session is facilitated by a registered dietitian and is designed to address the nutritional changes needed to manage heart disease, diabetes, weight management and other health related issues. Sessions are by appointment only. There is no fee for Highmark members to participate in this program; a nominal fee for non-Highmark members. Call 724-274-5202 today for an appointment/details.
Highmark’s Clear the Air: Smoking Cessation
Your health is worth one more try. This one-session, two-hour program is the step you take BEFORE deciding to quit tobacco. It empowers you to identify your reasons for quitting and gives you the tools you need to quit for good. There is no fee for Highmark members to participate in this program; a nominal fee for non-Highmark members. Joslin Diabetes Center’s Self Management Education two-day morning series
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This comprehensive program is designed for individuals with diabetes who are interested in learning how to manage their diabetes, prevent complications, eat healthfully and control blood sugar levels. There are two classes in this series that occur once for two consecutive weeks. *Participants must attend both classes. If you have a current course completion card for a Healthcare provider CPR class in the last two years, you can take the renewal course. You must present your current card the day of class. This class covers the information in the Healthcare Provider class in an abbreviated format. Upon course completion, participants receive a card valid for two years. Tai Chi for Beginners six-week series begins

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that promotes well being by circulating the “chi” of the body through a series of slow, relaxing and controlled movements.
