AKMC Hosts Surgical Solutions for Arthritis
November 05, 2009Natrona Heights, Pa., – Alle-Kiski Medical Center’s (AKMC) PriorityCare program will host Eric Evans, MD for a presentation entitled “Surgical Solutions for Arthritis”
on Tuesday, November 17, at 6 p.m. in the Charles W. Young Conference Center at the hospital in Harrison.
Arthritis is referred to as the nation’s number one crippling disease and the most common chronic disease in people over 40.
Although medications are the first defense against arthritis pain and swelling, many doctors will recommend a surgical solution if the medication fails to solve the problem. Dr. Evans will discuss these surgical solutions and the benefits such as stabilization, improved alignment, greater mobility, flexibility, overall use, range-of-motions and some level of pain relief where other treatment options might have failed.
Dr. Evans is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with Greater Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Associates. He is on staff at AKMC and has an office in Natrona Heights.
PriorityCare is a free membership program offered by AKMC to all adults age 55 or older. Please call 724-226-7339 to register or e-mail: kgiovann@wpahs.org.
