Canonsburg, PA, September 16, 2009 – Canonsburg General Hospital (CGH) will now offer women the latest in digital mammography with their new system. The hospital is dedicated to providing women with the best care and services in the fight against breast cancer and this system will allow for high quality images with more specific details.
In conjunction with October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Canonsburg General Hospital’s Digital Mammography Center will accept patients beginning October 2009. The Digital Mammography Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology and approved by the Federal Mammography Quality Standards Act.
“The new digital mammography suite will offer patients a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere,” Marilyn Kovach, Director of Imaging and Cardiology stated.
“Utmost professional care will be provided by an experienced technologist who will perform the examination.” The technologists are board certified in mammography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. “The patient will be notified of their preliminary mammography results before their appointment concludes. This is another way we are able to show our patients how important the screening process is and how much we focus on their well being,” Kovach said.
