 Canonsburg General Hospital was built as a result of an outpouring of financial support from our community. The community’s involvement has allowed the hospital to continue its more than 100-year tradition of providing high-quality, low-cost care with linkages to the latest medical research and advanced technology. The newest initiative that Canonsburg General Hospital is embarking upon is the Patient Gateway Project. Externally, this project will enhance the main entrance of the hospital by extending a covered roofline, increasing the lanes of traffic, and adding more handicapped parking spaces close to the entrance. Internally, the project will enlarge and upgrade the patient lobby areas by adding more seating, creating private registration rooms and renovating the main entranceway.
Over the course of several years, the hospital has opened a new Emergency and Ambulatory departments and become the southern port for LifeFlight, which is the helicopter service that responds to emergent situations. These additions have helped provide top-notch, quality health care close to home. Besides the strength of our professional and clinical staffs, they are some of the reasons why Canonsburg General Hospital continues to thrive and be the provider of choice to residents in Washington County. The Patient Gateway Project will support the expansions witnessed in Washington County by both residential and commercial properties. It is another way in which the hospital remains proactive to a growing community.
