Endocrinology

In partnership with Allegheny General Hospital and Canonsburg General Hospital, the Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Health was created to better serve individuals with diabetes mellitus in our community.

The goal of the Center is to make available an advanced treatment center that provides comprehensive health management services and education for patients with diabetes and all other endocrine-associated disorders.

For patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, the Center provides a complete program which includes the services of a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator, as well as insulin pump initiation and management.

It also seeks to aggressively attack the growing epidemic of diabetes mellitus by counseling and treating non-diabetic individuals with insulin resistance, as they are at high risk for developing heart disease and evolving to the diabetic state.  Recently termed, "the cardiovascular dysmetabolic syndrome" or the "insulin resistant syndrome," this disease process also plays a central role in patients with polyscystic ovarian syndrome and reactive hypoglycemia.

Our physicians, along with a progressive team of highly skilled nurse practitioners, are experts at managing patients with diabetes and endocrine-related disorders.
