Cardiology Services

Canonsburg General Hospital provides comprehensive services for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease.  We produce imaging of the heart in Nuclear Medicine and Echocardiology.

Nuclear Cardiology Stress Testing

We offer state-of-the-art dual head cameras to provide the cardiologist and technologist with optimal resolution and imaging.  The department is dedicated to cardiac stress testing with board-certified technologists as well as a licensed, board-certified cardiologist with the patient at all times.  We also provide adenosine and dobutamine testing for cardiac imaging.

Echocardiology

We offer all cardiovascular ultrasound needs with our state-of-the art equipment.  The ultrasounc data is digitally acquired and stored in its raw state to preserve the integrity of the data.  The resulting images can then be viewed, measured, optimized and analyzed by the cardiologist at any time without losing any of the original integrity and image quality.

The hospital's Echocardiology Laboratory recently achieved accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Echocardiology Laboratories (ICAEL).  The hospital's echocardiology laboratory is one of the first one thousand echocardiology laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and its provision of quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease.
