Ambulance Services

The Canonsburg Ambulance Service is owned and operated by Canonsburg General Hospital with the hospital's emergency department physicians providing medical command to the ambulance crew in the field.   Canonsburg Ambulance provides pre-hospital care to help ensure that our community members have access to quality medical services and patient care.  The Service has been designated as the primary 911 responder for the greater Canonsburg service area.

The Service is located at 209 West Pike Street in Canonsburg.  By becoming a member, you will ensure access to emergency ambulance services while eliminating unnecessary expenses.  You will also have access to certain noncovered transportation services at a member rate.  To become a subscriber, call 724-745-6911.

The Canonsburg General Hospital Ambulance Service recently received certification from the Office of the State Fire Commissioner as a participating department of the Pennsylvania Fire Service Certification Program.  The certificate is awarded to ambulance and fire rescue squads whose members are trained at the state level and are certified by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.  The training prepares emergency medical technicians and paramedics to provide ground and rescue assistance to local fire departments during a fire.  To achieve certification, EMTs and paramedics from the Canonsburg General Hospital Ambulance Service enrolled in the volunteer certification training program that included both written and practical courses on firefighting rescue techniques and how to medically care for injured firefighters and/or fire victims.

Medivan, a free transporation service is operated by the Canonsburg Ambulance Service.  Free transportation is provided to and from Canonsburg General Hospital for testing, surgery or therapy.  The Medivan service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.  To schedule transportation to Canonsburg General Hospital or for more information, call 724-745-6911.
