Citizens School of Nursing has extensive facilities for instruction and clinical experience, including: |

Allegheny Valley Hospital serves as the chief area for experience in the practice of nursing. The Hospital has a 250-bed capacity and serves patients with a variety of health problems. This affords an abundance of opportunities for the practice of nursing.
Various cooperating agencies are also used to provide clinical experiences in the specialized areas of nursing and in the community.
School Instructional Facilities
Citizens School of Nursing is located in the Ambulatory Care Center building, in New Kensington, Pa. The School's facilities for instruction include well-equipped classrooms, conference rooms, a computer laboratory, and a nursing skills simulation laboratory.



The School's library has up-to-date books, professional periodicals, interlibrary loan services, and Internet access. Students also have access to the Medical Staff Library at the Hospital.

Students are welcome to use the "Little Shop", located in the ACC, or the Allegheny Valley Hospital cafeteria for meals and breaks.
The Little Shop is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the purchase of breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
There are refrigerators and microwaves in the kitchen area of the School's student lounge area where students may eat lunch and take breaks. There are also a variety of comfortable seating arrangements for conversations or studying.



An additional lounge area provides a relaxing location for conversation or studying.
