Pain Medicine Fellowship Program

TempleThe Western Pennsylvania Hospital/Temple University Pain Medicine Fellowship Program is a one-year multidisciplinary pain medicine program. Our educational program incorporates the ACGME core competencies throughout training for appropriate fellow growth and development in a dynamic and highly personalized interactive curriculum.

Our annual outpatient volume is over 8600 patients with over 2500 outpatient interventional procedures. Also, over 1000 inpatients are seen annually and over 80 device implantations are performed annually.

The program includes training in Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, and Neurology at designated training sites, which include The Western Pennsylvania Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital, both of which are part of the West Penn Allegheny Health System; and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Mercy Hospital.

The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh is a 500-bed academic medical center that has been regionally and nationally recognized for excellence in nursing, bariatric surgery, bone marrow and cell transplantation, burn care, cardiovascular care, joint care, and reproductive medicine.

Allegheny General Hospital has earned an international reputation for excellence and innovation in the care of patients, medical education and research. Serving Pittsburgh and the surrounding five-state area, the 724-bed academic medical center offers a wide array of medical and surgical services.
