Duty Hours/Night Float
The Western Pennsylvania Hospital fully complies with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) duty hours/week regulations.
Instruction on maintaining compliance with required duty-hour regulations is regularly reviewed with the residents and faculty.
In addition, residents receive training on how to identify and avoid fatigue during their rotations.
A night float rotation is used to ensure compliance with duty hours.
