The Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) Pharmacy Residency Programs provide residents with the following benefits:

Residents receive the following professional education benefits:

Travel reimbursement covers appropriate travel expenditures, hotel accommodations (double occupancy), and meals at professional meetings (ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, Eastern States Conference).
Residents are compensated as follows:
PGY1 Stipend - $38,000
PGY2 Stipend - $40,000
Residents are paid for holiday time and receive paid time off to be used as desired (eg, for vacation, personal days, sick days, or interview days). The procedures are as follows:
Residents are required to work two holidays per year. The holiday schedule will be distributed during orientation.
When residents work a holiday, they will be granted another day off. The resident must use the holiday time 60 days prior to or after the holiday. When requesting to use the holiday time off, the procedures for requesting vacation days (paid time off) shall be followed.
- Paid Time Off
Each resident is provided 13 paid days off during the residency to be used for vacation/ personal time/ sick days/ interview days.
Time away from the hospital related to the residency that has been approved by the Director (ie, ASHP Midyear Meeting and Eastern States Conference) does not count toward this time.
Days off should be scheduled in advance when possible.
Paid days off must be used by June 1.
