Education

Applicants to the program must have:

• Graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Exhibit a keen interest in pursuing a career in patient-focused pharmacy practice
• Be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. More information on Pennsylvania pharmacist’s licensure eligibility can be found at the Pa. Department of State website.

Applications will be accepted through January 1 of each year. Application materials should include the following:
• Letter of intent
• Residency Interest Form
• Curriculum vitae
• Three professional letters of recommendation
• Academic transcript

An on-site interview is also required. The residency commences by July 1.

Candidates interested in the following programs must submit their application via ASHP PhORCAS and also participate in the ASHP residency matching program. Candidates may also email their PhORCAS submission confirmation to the respective program directors. (Candidates will have to upload their completed Residency Interest Form to ASHP PhORCAS prior to submitting their application to AGH.)

• PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency
• PGY2 Critical Care Residency
• PGY2 Hematology-Oncology Residency

Candidates interested in the following programs should submit (mail) their application directly to the respective program director/contact at the address below:
• PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency
• PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency
• PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration Residency/MPH Program (these candidates will apply for the multidisciplinary MPH program directly to the University of Pittsburgh, Pitt Public Health – only after being accepted to the residency program via SOPHAS online application services. Details will be provided upon acceptance to the residency program. PCAT may substitute for the GRE requirement.)
