Following are our 2007-2008 residents' answers to the question, Why did you choose AGH for your pharmacy residency program?
Sarah Battistone , PharmD -I chose AGH because of its reputation and the flexibility of the program that will allow me to gear this year to exploring my interests. I chose to stay in Pittsburgh because I really enjoy the city, all the different things to do here, and being close to my family.
Tiffany Christopher, PharmD - AGH had the size residency program I was looking for as well as core and elective rotation I was interested in experiencing.
Amber Fullmer, PharmD - I love Pittsburgh!!! GO STEELERS!!!
Christina Kelly, PharmD - I spent so many years here in school, Pittsburgh started to feel like my second home. I love the city and all it has to offer. AGH seemed like the perfect fit- it is in the right area, it is a tertiary care hospital with many clinical specialty areas and the staff made me feel right at home.
Lindsay Palkovic, PharmD - I selected AGH for their strengths in critical care. Each ICU has a clinical pharmacist and a satellite pharmacy to enable the delivery of optimal patient care. These features offer a rich environment to learn skills and knowledge of a specialist.
Sara Soliman, PharmD - AGH offers a well-rounded residency program with rotations in several different departments. As a student I complete of a couple of rotations here at AGH and I truly enjoyed my experience, which led me to come back.
Colleen Timlin, PharmD - I came to AGH for the opportunity to practice in a large, urban, teaching hospital focused on patient care. The program offered many services and specialties with preceptors devoted to the growth of its residents. I also felt as though the staff and practitioners were open in accepting of residents and the role of a pharmacist in the healthcare team.
