Schools of Radiologic Technology
The Western Pennsylvania Hospital (WPH), Allegheny General Hospital (AGH), and Allegheny Valley Hospital (AVH) serve as clinical affiliates for several medical imaging / radiological sciences education programs in the region.
Penn State University (PSU) New Kensington Campus
WPH, AGH, and AVH are clinical affiliates for the Radiological Sciences Program of the Penn State University (PSU) New Kensington campus.
The PSU New Kensington Radiological Sciences Program is a comprehensive academic and clinical curriculum that begins in the fall of each year and requires 24 consecutive months (including summer sessions) to complete.
Students who successfully complete the program receive an associate's degree in Radiological Sciences from PSU and are eligible for examination with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for professional certification.

Community College of Allegheny County
AGH, AVH, WPH, and the Forbes Regional InterCommunity Cancer Center serve as clinical sites for medical diagnostic and therapeutic services students from Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), such as those in Radiation Therapy, Radiologic Technology, and Medical Sonography degree programs. The CCAC programs lead to associate’s degrees and prepare students to take the appropriate board examination upon completion of the program.

Clinical Affiliations with Other Radiologic Sciences Degree Programs
WPAHS Radiology departments serve as clinical training sites for students in additional medical imaging / radiologic sciences educational programs. After successful completion of their educational institution's associate's or bachelor's degree program, these students are eligible to take applicable board exams, such as the ARRT certification for X-Ray Technologist and the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) boards for ARDMS certification.
Allegheny Valley Hospital's Radiology Department serves as a clinical site for students in medical imaging / radiologic sciences educational programs of Westmoreland County Community College and Mt. Aloysius College.
West Penn Hospital's Radiology Department serves as a clinical site for students in the Sanford-Brown Institute - Pittsburgh's Radiographer (Radiologic Technology, X-ray Technology) and Diagnostic Medical Sonographer associate's degree programs.
