Fox Chapel High School
This is a one-day seminar designed for high school juniors and seniors who are enrolled in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM) program. This course introduces students to simulation training and its role in medical education. Students receive a tour of the STAR Center, listen to simulation experts, watch videos, and participate in small-group learning sessions. These educational sessions cover the following five topics: Mock Resuscitation Demonstration, Simulation Technology, Airway Management Lab, Patient Communications, and Mannequin Technology.
Upon completion of this course, the students will understand the capabilities and limitations of simulation and how it can be used to train medical students and professionals.
