Musculoskeletal OSCE – Knee, Foot and Ankle

Musculoskeletal Observed Structured Clinical Examination

This is a three hour course designed to give internal medicine residents an opportunity to practice and become familiar with knee, ankle and foot exams through the use of simulated patients. Upon completion of the course, residents will be expected to accurately perform both exam types as well as create differential diagnosis for common knee, ankle and foot pathology.

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate the techniques of performing a knee exam
  • Demonstrate the techniques of performing an ankle/foot exam

Expected Outcomes

  • Perform a comprehensive knee exam
  • Perform a comprehensive ankle/foot exam
  • Create a differential diagnosis for common knee, ankle and foot pathology
