This course is designed for residents to practice proper fitting, insertion, and patient teaching regarding a variety of contraceptive and anatomical corrective devices commonly prescribed in the outpatient setting. Through a hybrid instruction utilizing standardized patients with simulation task trainers, participants are able to integrate therapeutic communication with psychomotor skills, simultaneously. In addition, vendor demonstrations enable participants to practice skills through a virtual approach.
Learning Objectives
- Perform therapeutic communication related to sensitive female topics.
- Demonstrate proper techniques in insertion and removal of a variety of vaginal devices.
