Bone Marrow Biopsy Simulation

This is a three-hour course designed to teach first-year Oncology fellows how to properly perform bone marrow aspirates and biopsies. Students will learn about the entire process from start to finish as instruction will begin with identifying and gathering the requisite equipment and will end with instruction on post-procedure slides. Students will gain proficiency in performing these procedures by identifying anatomical landmarks through the use of Standardized Health Care Practitioners. This course will also address the incorporation of communication skills during procedure implementation. Upon completion of this course, students will be competent in performing bone marrow aspirates and biopsies.
