Practice Assessment Skills Through Simulation

This course has been designed to provide participants the opportunity to practice and develop assessment skills in the following fundamental areas:

  • Peripheral Pulse Evaluation
  • Lung Sounds
  • Heart Tones
  • Abdominal Sounds
  • EKG Rhythms

Five self-learning modules guide the participant through a demonstration of these fundamental content areas. These modules will enable participants to identify and differentiate these sounds and their meanings.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this course, the participant will be able to do the following: 

  • Assess various peripheral pulses.
  • Define and describe the various lung, heart and abdominal sounds.
  • List and define various EKG rhythms.

Audience

  • Beginning and intermediate medical, nursing, and allied health students and practitioners
