The Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing uses Assessment Technologies Institute LLC (ATI) for standardized testing, including the School's pre-admission test and tests administered to students as part of their School curriculum.   Applicants - Before registering to take the School's preadmission test, you must have already sent to the School of Nursing your Application to the School accompanied by the School's $50 application fee. Then, register online with ATI and obtain a personal, permanent ATI test identification (ID) number. Students - You only register with ATI once, then use your personal ATI test ID number on every test taken at the School of Nursing. A Preadmission Conference is also required of applicants. Pre-admission Conference

Attending a Preadmission Conference is an enrollment requirement. It's designed to give you more detailed information about the nursing school experience in general and attending our nursing program in particular.

Many Preadmission Conferences are scheduled to follow the ATI-TEAS testing so that both can be completed in one day. Please see the schedule for dates and times. Please contact the School to register.

ATI Registration and Test ID Number

Creating Your ATI Testing Number and Preadmission Conference

You need to open an account with ATI (Assessment Technologies Institute, LLC) to create your personal testing registration number. This is a FREE account. You need to do this prior to coming for your ATI-TEAS test, mentioned in your application letter. When you come for your ATI-TEAS test you will need to have your number with you to register to take the exam. You will need this number now and each time you take a future ATI exam within our program. You will want to give attention to directions on how to print a copy of your number once you have created it. In the future, if you forget your ID number, you can retrieve your login information by using the "Forgot Password" feature. This ID number will not change; you need to register only once.

The following are the directions to get you started on creating your registration number. You can open the free account with ATI by going to www.atitesting.com and clicking on "Create New Account". Follow the screen prompts. When completing the institutions section you will find our school listed as “Western PA Hospital SON.” After you have registered on this site your personal ID will be displayed under "Account Information". At this screen, you will have the opportunity to print your ATI paper/pencil ID number. You should print and retain this information. Please keep your ATI paper/pencil ID number until notified by the School of Nursing regarding acceptance. If accepted, you need to keep this ID number since you will use it throughout the two years of our nursing program.

ATI TEAS V (TEAS 5.0) Study Manual

You may purchase from ATI a study manual if you’re interested in studying prior to your scheduled testing date. However, you are not required to do so. ATI offers a TEAS V Study Manual that can be purchased online. To purchase please click Student and then click TEAS V Study Manual. The cost of the Study Manual is $46. ATI also offers online Practice Assessments/tests (Form A and Form B) that can be purchased for $39 each. All of these products may be purchased as a bundle/package for the cost of $92 that includes the ATI TEAS V Study Manual and ATI TEAS V Online Practice Assessments Form A and Form B. All prices are subject to change by the company.

TEAS Testing Schedule

The exams will begin promptly at 9 a.m. (the one scheduled evening exam will begin at 6 p.m.)and will last at least until 12:30 p.m. (9:30 p.m. for the evening exam). All tests will be given at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing. Registration for the test is required.

Identification Needed for ATI-TEAS Testing

Personal identification (ID) with photo is required for taking the ATI-TEAS test. Bring official photo ID with you when you come to take the test. Acceptable forms of official photo ID are a current, valid U.S. Driver’s License, U.S. green card, or U.S. Passport. No other forms of ID will be accepted. Any ID that has expired will not be accepted. You will be asked to show this ID upon entering the testing room. If proper ID is not available you will not be permitted to take the exam.

Signs will be posted in the school for the classroom to be used for testing.
Plan to arrive early for this timed testing. Plan to arrive 1/2 hour before the test for final registration/signing in, paying the fee, and showing your ID. Testing starts promptly at 9 a.m. except for the one evening testing session that starts at 6 p.m.
