Childbirth Education classes should be started between the 28th to 34th week of pregnancy.
This is a series of four classes which will provide in-depth preparation for the childbirth experience taught by nationally certified Childbirth Educators. Content includes signs of labor, stages of labor, comfort and coping strategies and breathing and relaxation techniques. A tour of the Women's and Infants Care Center is included in these classes.
Fee: $135 per couple, plus $10.00 if an additional person is necessary. Price also includes Baby Basics and Breastfeeding Classes. $100 for the 4 week series without Baby Basics and Breastfeeding.
For those women that have delivered in the last five years, West Penn Forbes Regional Campus offers a Lamaze Refresher Class. Enrollees will attend weeks 2 and 3 of the 4 week series only. The fee for Lamaze Refresher classes is $60.
