During the Baby Care Basics class, couples will learn all about caring for their newborn baby. Topics include bathing, diapering, feeding, normal newborn appearance and behavior, calming and soothing techniques and selecting a pediatrician. Parents will learn how to swaddle, bathe and diaper by practicing on dolls used in class.

Class fee is $50 per couple.

Class size is limited, so please register early.

Reduced Fee Package: Register for the following three classes and save $15: Childbirth Comprehensive, Baby Care Basics and Breastfeeding for $175 per couple.

Refund Policy: Refunds are granted in case of premature delivery or medical complications. West Penn Hospital must receive a letter from your physician explaining the reason for the refund. Refunds are pro-rated to reimburse only those classes not attended. A refund for nonmedical reasons must be requested at least 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the class.
