This 3 hour class is recommended for expectant parents who have decided to breastfeed their infant or who are considering breastfeeding as their feeding choice.

During this interactive class you will learn the basics of breastfeeding including proper latch-on, infant feeding cues, positioning, how to establish a good milk supply and suggestions for breastfeeding supplies you may need.

A board certified lactation consultant leads this class and will answer your questions, dispel myths and provide factual, evidence-based information. Bra fittings are also available.

Bra fittings are available during this class.

Class fee is $40 per couple.

Reduced Fee Package: Register for the following three classes and save $15: Childbirth Comprehensive, Baby Care Basics and Breastfeeding for $175 per couple.

Refund Policy: Refunds are granted in case of premature delivery or medical complications. West Penn Hospital must receive a letter from your physician explaining the reason for the refund. Refunds are pro-rated to reimburse only those classes not attended. A refund for nonmedical reasons must be requested at least 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the class.
