Through the Division of General Surgery, WPAHS offers procedures at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital - Forbes Regional Campus for the full range of general surgical problems, including complex intra-abdominal procedures and treatment for patients with multiple medical problems.

The Surgical Breast Disease Program offers a multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art approach to the care of breast disorders.

The Bariatric Surgery and Morbid Obesity Program offers state-of-the-art laparoscopic and open approaches in a multidisciplinary manner.

The Minimally Invasive Surgery Program offers state-of-the-art laparoscopic approaches for the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), ventral and inguinal hernia repair and solid organ surgery.
 
Residents in the Division's approved surgical residency program are involved in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care.
