Neurosurgery

The Western Pennsylvania Hospital – Forbes Regional Campus offers of around-the-clock neurosurgical physician coverage at the Hospital, provided by neurosurgeons from Allegheny General Hospital (AGH).

AGH neurosurgeons are available for consultations on patients presenting to West Penn Hospital – Forbes Regional Campus’ Emergency Department with serious neurosurgical conditions. The neurosurgeons are also available for in-patient neurosurgery consultations and are available for appointments for office visits at Forbes.

Comprehensive neck and back surgical procedures are provided at West Penn Hospital – Forbes Regional Campus, including microdiscectomy, lumbar laminectomy, anterior cervical discectomy, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, spinal fusion and instrumentation, minimally invasive spinal surgery, and restorative spine surgery. Future planned services to be provided at the Hospital include microsurgical options for treating intracranial problems and tumors at the base of the skull.

Dr. James Burgess and Dr. Brad Bellotte are the primary AGH neurosurgeons on-site at West Penn Hospital – Forbes Regional Campus for consultations and office appointments. Dr. Jack Wilberger, Dr. Bennett Blumenkopf, and Dr. Matthew Quigley will provide support to assure neurosurgical coverage at Forbes Regional Campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
