Orthopaedic Surgery

The Western Pennsylvania Hospital - Forbes Regional Campus is proud of its distinguished orthopedic service history. Our respected surgeons have a tremendous foundation of experience in the field of orthopedic medicine and are considered leaders in their field for southwestern Pennsylvania.

The West Penn - Forbes Regional Campus orthopedic service line is involved with several facets of orthopedic medicine. Our specialty areas include Total Hip Replacements, Total Knee Replacements, and Laminectomies. Our diverse background allows us to see over 500 orthopedic patients per year.

The division of orthopedic medicine at West Penn - Forbes Regional Campus has recently introduced a program to educate patients on their upcoming surgery. The program reviews pre-hospital and surgical exercises and addresses pain management issues to help with pain control.

The objective of our Physical Therapy program is to be more comprehensive for the patient. The goal of the program is to have the patient back home in four days, introduce effective pain management and to have the patient independently ambulating pain free post operatively.
