Hospice in the Hospital

Hospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on quality and comfort. Where the care takes place varies to the individual situation. Your loved one stays at the hospital with the nursing staff of the hospital providing direct care with Forbes Hospice and Palliative Care providing additional support in terms of pain and symptom management. Our care team also works with the health care staff at the hospital, as well as the family, providing education, emotional and spiritual support. If needed, the hospice team works with the family on alternative care plans which may include transfer to our inpatient unit.
