The Western Pennsylvania Hospital is a 292-bed academic medical center that provides emergency services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and inpatient and outpatient care for the full range of medical and surgical conditions.

• Emergency Medicine services, including a completely renovated Emergency Department that opened on Feb. 14, 2012, with 23 private patient treatment rooms (5 in a separate 'rapid-treat' area) and dedicated state-of-the-art  X-ray room, computed tomography (CT) room and ultrasound equipment
• Medical Patient Care Unit  (the upgraded unit with 34 private patient rooms re-opened on Feb. 13, 2012)
• Surgical Patient Care Unit (the completely renovated unit with 38 private patient rooms re-opened on Feb. 13, 2012)
• Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (the completely renovated unit re-opened in March 2012)
