Pledge the Gift of Life

Each year, the lives of thousands of people across the country are saved because someone made the choice to become an organ donor. In April, Allegheny Health Network is honored to celebrate National Donate Life Month and pay tribute to all of those who have bestowed the precious gift of life to another through organ donation. Visit AHNdonate.org to learn more and register to be an organ donor.

KDKA-TV: Local Nurses Prepare For Trip To Haiti

Monday, January 25th, 2010

More than a dozen local nurses are answering the call for help in Haiti and they are in the middle of final preparations for a new mission to the earthquake ravaged country.

They took an oath as nurses to devote themselves to the welfare of those in their care.

Three nurses at Allegheny General Hospital have taken that oath a step further.

They along with others on the staff are going to Haiti to help in the relief effort.

"We have 17 nurses ready to go. We have five on the ground in Haiti right this minute and we have many more that are going through the process of filling out the paperwork in order to go," Cathy Stoddart said.
