WTAE-TV: Allegheny General Hospital Nurses Volunteer To Go To Haiti

PITTSBURGH -- Some nurses from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh are headed to the disaster zone in Haiti to help care for earthquake survivors.

When the Service Employees International Union, which represents the nurses, asked for volunteers, Cece Peterson, of Cranberry, signed up without hesitation. The LifeFlight registered nurse said she wasn't able to help out in crisis situations in the past, so this decision was a no-brainer.

"I've always regretted not being able to raise my hand at that point. So, when Haiti came up, I saw no reason to say no," Peterson said.
