Minimally Invasive Robotic Lung Cancer Surgery
Thoracic surgeons at Pittsburgh's Allegheny General Hospital are using the advanced da Vinci robotic surgical system to perform minimally invasive lung cancer surgery, offering new hope to patients with early stage lung cancer who may not be good candidates for a more invasive operation. PITTSBURGH (Jan. 23, 2013) - Andrea Joubert, President of the Allegheny General Hospital Auxiliary, is pleased to announce the Auxiliary’s 14th annual fund-raising gala, Fly Me to the Moon, a black tie optional event, to be held at the Westin Convention Center Hotel on Saturday evening, April 6, 2013.
The night promises to be packed with glamour and surprises as guests travel back to a time when “Cool” was King and the “Rat Pack” ruled the strip.
Emmy Award Winner Jimmy Sapienza, with his larger-than-life personality and swagger, promises to entertain with a show worthy of the classiest night clubs and Vegas showrooms. Guests will also have the opportunity to test Lady Luck with after dinner games of chance and of course, the ever popular silent auction guarantees to have plenty of exciting and enticing items open for bid.
The beneficiary of the Gala will be the Department of Neurology with a specific goal to provide funding for the establishment of a four-bed, state-of-the-art Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Allegheny General Hospital.
