Celebrating the Ultimate Gift of Life -- Through Organ Donation
In celebration of national Donate Life Month, Allegheny General Hospital's Transplant Program brought families of organ donors, living donors and transplant recipients together for a beautiful ceremony recognizing all of those who have bestowed the gift of life to another human being through organ donation. AVH Offers Low Vision Rehabilitation Lecture

Natrona Heights, Pa., – The PriorityCare program of Allegheny Valley Hospital (AVH) will host “Low Vision Rehabilitation: Making the Most of Your Sight” on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Charles W. Young Conference Center at hospital in Harrison.
A person with low vision may have severely reduced sight, inability to see contrast or some obstruction in the vision field – or all three limitations. Low vision can impact independence and quality of life.
The program will be presented by Kristy Ondriezek, OTR/L from AVH’s Occupational Therapy Department. Ms. Ondriezek, a licensed occupational therapist with specialized training in low vision rehabilitation, will discuss the impact low vision has on your lifestyle and how rehabilitation and training can help you maximize your functioning and independence with the sight you have.
